How Web3Gate Works

For Users

Users can begin using Web3Gate services by downloading the mobile app or browser extension (coming soon), creating an account with their email address, and then requesting a One Time Password (OTP) and logging in with that. This eliminates the possibility of password leakage and the need to remember passwords. Following that, the user must link their crypto wallets to their Web3Gate account.

We don't require users to connect their crypto wallet to us and sign a message to prove their crypto wallet ownership. Instead, when a user adds a crypto wallet, we simply ask them to paste a unique code on their profile page biography on their favorite NFT Marketplace, and our system will analyze the page and validate the crypto wallet ownership. This is as good as them directly connecting to us because each crypto wallet will have their own personal page on every NFT marketplace, and only the person holding the crypto wallet has access to modify any information on the page, and before any modification can take place, they will need to sign a message to prove their ownership.

Following this, we will generate a verifiable credential associated with the user's Web3Gate account. Following that, users will only need to use the mobile app or browser extension to prove token ownership, while their crypto wallets will be securely disconnected and stored.

For Verifiers

Verifier can create multiple token gates with distinct policies for online, offline, and discord server gating. The gating policies are robust and flexible, and they can cross projects and networks, such as:

  1. User is require to have at least 1 NFT A or at least 1 NFT B, to gain access as Tier 1 Admission

  2. User is require to have at least 1 NFT A AND at least 1 NFT B, to gain access as Tier 2 Admission

  3. User is require to have at least 1 NFT A for X numbers of days AND at least 1 NFT B for Y numbers for days, to gain access as Tier 3 Admission

  4. User with NFT A Token ID from 1~1000 will gain access as VVIP admission

  5. ETC

For Offline Gating

Verifier must first download the Web3Gate Verifier App, then import the gating policy before scanning event participants' QR codes for token ownership validation.

For Online Gating

Once the gating policy has been developed, the verifier must copy a few lines of code and implement it on the online platform that is to be gated. The system of Web3Gate then completely automates the gating process; the Verifier is not required to do anything else.

Discord Server Gating

Once the gating policy is created, the verifier must invite Web3Gate's discord bot to the server; the gating process is then completely automated by Web3Gate's discord bot, with no further action required by the Verifier.
